"A centre of learning and opportunity"

Our Farm trip was amazing!

We had such a great time visiting the farm. We learnt so much and loved our hands on experience.

4th Meeting of 2022/23

A visit from Acorns Children’s Hospice

In the fourth meeting of the year, our councillors welcomed two visitors from Acorns Children’s Hospice. The purpose of the meeting was twofold: to learn about the important work that goes on at Acorns to support children in need, and to consider how our school might support the charity in the future.

Our ABPS councillors listened particularly well to the representatives from Acorns, and soon they were talking about ways in which our school might raise money for the charity. It was agreed that our school will support the work of Acorns, and councillors will now gather the thoughts of their classmates about possible sponsorship activities.

Actions for the next meeting

Members of the council were asked to capture the views of their peers about raising money for Acorns Children’s Hospice. In particular, we would like children to think of sponsored activities that might be carried out by individual year groups – supporting creativity within the older and younger children.

Homework 8th – 15th March

The children’s homework this week will be sent home in their book bags. This will be an activity practising their phonics (adding the sound buttons and reading the words like we showed you in parents evening). Please let your child do this independently.

Thank you the Year 1 Team

Roman Day

On Wednesday 19th April Year 3 will be taking part in Roman Day! This is a super exciting event in Year 3 where the children will come to school dressed as a Roman Soldier and take part in lots of fun activities! For this we will ask the children to make their own shield and also bring in a sword for the battle field. More information to follow.

World Book Day 2023

Just a quick reminder that it is World Book Day tomorrow (2nd March). Children can come dressed as an animal or book character… and if they do not wish to do this then they can come dressed as themselves.
