‘Fire! Fire!’ This is a history driven topic, which teaches children about life in the 1600s. Children will learn about life as a Londoner during The Great Fire of London, and how King Charles II pulled the city together (or down…) during the blaze. By the end of the theme, children will have enhanced their understanding of this significant event in British history. They’ll also know more about significant people such as Samuel Pepys, King Charles II, Thomas Farriner and Sir Christopher Wren. We’ll look at how the construction of modern buildings has changed and we’ll think carefully about fire safety in our own lives. There will be an assembly held on 9th March where we can share with you all we have learnt!
