Homework 29th Sept

We are so sorry, technology has failed us and we can’t get the documents to open. Here is the homework for this week and we will try to sort it out tomorrow!

Year 4 English and Maths Homework

29th September 2022 (handed in Monday 3rd October)

English We are sending home the CGP KS2 English Grammar, Punctuation and spelling books. The children will need to complete page 7 – ‘Adverbs’. These books will need to be back in school on Monday morning as we will need them for a lesson first thing.

Maths – We would like the children to get familiar with TT Rockstars and play at least 2 – 3 games in the studio. Playing in the studio will give your child a rockstar status. We will send home login details for TT rockstars in the front of their CGP books.

Spellings – A spelling sheet has been sent home, please start at week 3.

So sorry.

Mrs Smart and Miss Lewis

READING

Dear all,

We have noticed that the majority of the children are not reading enough. Our homework policy is that your child is reading 10 minutes each night either to you or themselves. Then please record this in the white Reading Record book.

To give you an idea of what we expect, children on the yellow, green or blue levels should be reading 2-3 books a week.

Your support is appreciated.

Mrs Smart and Miss Lewis

Rhino Readers

This week’s Twinkl GO code for Rhino Readers is: QN3581

Trip to Bishop’s Wood 30.09.22

Trip – Friday 30th September 2022

We can’t wait to take the children on their first trip in Year 3! We will be heading to Bishop’s Wood on Friday 30th September where we will venture into the Stone Age. Children will need to bring in a packed lunch and water bottle and wear jogging bottoms, a school top (either PE or uniform) and comfortable shoes such as trainers. They will also need a raincoat and wellies if it is wet.

We are also looking for parent helpers on the day, if you are available and would like to join us then please let Mrs Smith or Mrs Barker know.

Meet the Teachers!

Please join us for our curriculum meetings. They’re a fantastic opportunity to meet your child’s new teaching team and to learn more about what’s in store for the children this year. This is especially important if your child is in Year 6 or Year 2 as SATS information will be shared.

Books! Books! Books!

What makes Astwood Bank Primary a school that loves to read? Well look at this! This week we delivered a huge box of wonderful books to every class in the school. Thanks to Mrs Smith for all of her hard work, launching the ABPS Book Challenge. What a great way to start the year! Let’s see who can read all of their year group’s books by the end of the year and receive a reward…
