The Wonderful World of Julia Donaldson
This half term, Year One will be immersing themselves into ‘The Wonderful World of Julia Donaldson’. We will share and discuss a wide range of stories written by this well-known children’s author, using the stories to develop our writing skills in English; learning ways to join sentences together and how adding suffixes to words can change their meaning. In Science, we will observe and discuss seasonal changes within winter and learn about different types of plants and trees. In History, we will use the stories Zog and The Princess and the Wizard to introduce the themes knights, castles, and dragons; focusing on the Medieval time period and discussing how we can learn about life in the past.
