We have two splendid choirs at Astwood Bank and we’re looking forward to some exciting concerts and events. All documents and resources are available through the link below. Upper school choir – Year 5&6
Our y5&6 choir will be performing alongside other schools in the annual MAT Carol Concert at St. Stephen’s, Redditch on Wednesday 10th December. This will be a wonderful festive event so do get the date in your diaries. Resources are in the folder above, along with a letter giving all the details. The sign-up form is linked directly to the letter.
Our children performed brilliantly at the Arts Showcase last April. It was a wonderful experience to perform again with other children from ShiresMAT. There are a few photos added to the gallery below. We had lots of fun and the children were excellent ambassadors for the school!
Over Christmas 2024, we went up to The Bell to sing carols for the Welfare Association Christmas meal. As always, the children were wonderful and brought a well-needed large measure of festive cheer! The choir also performed at the inaugural MAT Christmas carol concert along with a choir of 140 children and gave a splendid performance.
Year 3&4 – Young Voices!
We are going to Young Voices on Friday 16th January 2026 and will be taking 53 children! The ticket order has been processed and this is now closed on ParentPay. If you didn’t get a ticket, it will be possible to order one yourself on the YV Music Room. Details of how to access Music Room (for children to rehearse songs at home) and how to get t-shirts and pay for the coach is on a letter in the resources folder.

Our YV choir is also going to perform at the annual Grandparent’s Tea Party on Monday 17th November, so pop this date in the diary!

Joining our choir – statement
Upon joining choir for the first time, we ask for a specific media consent. We take online safety very seriously; no child will be named in our videos and links will be posted on the choir page. As a school we can’t guarantee how this material will be used once it is in the public domain. If you have any questions or concerns about this issue please do ask.
We intend to have lots of fun with choir but do regard it as a serious commitment so please do reinforce this with your children. Our choir members are often seen performing in public places and are always excellent ambassadors for the school. Remember, the first port of call for information is always the choir page on the school website.
From May 2022, when ticking any choir media consent, you are agreeing to the following statement: My child would like to join the school choir and I am happy for video footage and photographs to be taken at concerts and events. I am also happy for photos and video featuring my child to appear online, such as on YouTube, and also in local newspapers. I will inform school if this situation changes.
If your child wants to join choir, but you are unable to give this media consent for whatever reason, please do come and talk to me and we may be able to make a separate provision.
