We have two splendid choirs at Astwood Bank and we’re looking forward to some exciting concerts and events. All documents and resources are available through the link below. Do check out the videos of past events too. Our media statement is right at the bottom. Please check back regularly for updates.
Upper school choir – Year 5&6
Our y5&6 choir will be performing alongside other schools in the annual MAT Carol Concert at St. Stephen’s, Redditch on Wednesday 10th December at 6:30pm. Resources for all schools are in the folder above, along with an initial letter giving details about tickets. The sign-up form is HERE. All the details about the concert day, including concert dress, drop-off times and the rehearsal in the church, are in the latest letter in the folder. ABPS parents, note that you’ll need to collect children from school at 3pm on the day as our church rehearsal slot is 3:30. Other schools, please check the letter!
If you are unable to get your child to the church rehearsal on the 10th please do get in touch as we’ve had a few offers of lifts. On the day (which is also our panto day) feel free to either wear your whites under a normal school jumper – or bring a bag and change.
ABPS choir has also been invited to walk up to The Bell again to sing a few carols for the Welfare Association Christmas Meal. This is always a lovely way to bring a bit of festive cheer to our local community. This will be in the afternoon on Monday 8th December. If anyone DBS-checked would like to walk up with us, please contact Mr George through the school office. We will be back for the end of school.
Our children performed brilliantly at the Arts Showcase last April. It was a wonderful experience to perform again with other children from ShiresMAT. There are a few photos added to the gallery below. We had lots of fun and the children were excellent ambassadors for the school!
Year 3&4 – Young Voices!
January’s concert will come around really quickly after Christmas – Please make sure children are doing lots of singing on the MR website and learning all the songs! We are going to Young Voices on Friday 16th January 2026 and will be taking 53 children! The ticket order has been processed and this is now closed on ParentPay. If you didn’t get a ticket, it will be possible to order one yourself on the YV Music Room. Details of how to access Music Room (for children to rehearse songs at home) and how to get t-shirts and pay for the coach is on a letter in the resources folder.
The deadline for ordering t-shirts on Music Room has now passed. T-shirts can now only be purchased directly via the YV Shop, and will be posted directly to the purchaser. The main order of T-shirts is now in school but will not be given out until after Christmas!
YV songs are also here on Spotify!
Our YV choir also performed at the annual Grandparent’s Tea Party on Monday 17th November. This was a wonderful afternoon and the children showed what confident performers they are! Well done.

Joining our choir – statement
Upon joining choir for the first time, we ask for a specific media consent. We take online safety very seriously; no child will be named in our videos and links will be posted on the choir page. As a school we can’t guarantee how this material will be used once it is in the public domain. If you have any questions or concerns about this issue please do ask.
We intend to have lots of fun with choir but do regard it as a serious commitment so please do reinforce this with your children. Our choir members are often seen performing in public places and are always excellent ambassadors for the school. Remember, the first port of call for information is always the choir page on the school website.
From May 2022, when ticking any choir media consent, you are agreeing to the following statement: My child would like to join the school choir and I am happy for video footage and photographs to be taken at concerts and events. I am also happy for photos and video featuring my child to appear online, such as on YouTube, and also in local newspapers. I will inform school if this situation changes.
If your child wants to join choir, but you are unable to give this media consent for whatever reason, please do come and talk to me and we may be able to make a separate provision.
Mr George
