Although I can tell you what I believe makes Astwood Bank so special, look at the school through the eyes of the people who make it what it is – our pupils, staff and parents.

Our aim is to offer all pupils a broad and stimulating curriculum that recognises the importance of providing pupils with the basic skills of literacy and numeracy. We want the children in our care to sparkle, to reach their full potential and learn skills for life through a creative curriculum. We hope they will look back fondly with treasured memories of their time at Astwood Bank Primary School.

Tomorrow morning, the gates will be back open at 8:30am and a brand-new school year will be officially underway ✨

Take a deep breath. Seeing that tiny uniform and that giant backpack can feel overwhelming. Your heart is probably racing a little bit right now, and it is completely normal to feel a mix of fierce pride and a heavy tug in your chest. They are ready for this next step, as are we, and so are you. Welcome to the ABPS family ✨

📚 To the Middle-Years Parents:
You know the drill by now. You survived the lost jumpers and the endless name-tagging from previous years. Seeing them stride into the playground with confidence feels a bit more familiar today, even if the morning rush was still absolute chaos. You are in the steady rhythm of school life now, watching them grow taller and wiser by the term ✨

🎓 To the Final-Year / Year 6 Parents:
Hold onto your hats. It’s the last first day of primary school. How did we get here? It feels like just yesterday they were the tiny ones clinging to your leg. This year is going to fly by in a blur of memories, maturity, and secondary school applications. Soak up every single second of being the big fish in the small pond and enjoy it all ✨

To every single parent waving goodbye tomorrow morning: we are in this together. They’ve got this and we’ve got them. Here’s to a wonderful, messy, brilliant school year ahead at ABPS 🍎✏️

Cast your minds back to our Summer 2026 Musical Concert a few weeks ago - an absolute feast for the ears with our children showcasing beautiful recorder, guitar, violin, and glockenspiel ensembles, alongside splendid solos 🎻🎵🎤 The standard of playing was incredibly high as always and everyone was extremely proud of what they achieved together 🌟

Since 2016, the Astwood Bank Primary Orchestra has truly grown from strength to strength, now boasting over 50 talented members! We can’t wait to see what more they get up to next year, but for now, relive the magic of their grand finale performance of Budapest! 🎶🎸🎻✨
